These
modules also use the great little OMRON G5LE-14 power relay which can switch a large load for its compact
size. Module includes: back EMP protection diode;
easy to use wire connection terminals; Normally Open, and Normally Closed contacts;
and AC and DC switching via the relay.

DUAL
TIMER
The high
quality, low cost Dual Timer Modules are small,
easy to use
units mainly focussed on the security,
electronics, and automation markets.
Available in 12v
DC or 24v DC models, the DualTimer
uses the OMRON G5LE-14 power relay
which can switch large AC or DC loads,
or can be used to switch DC logic circuitry.
The Timer's focus
on two of the most commonly used modes (Delay,
and Time Out) makes it easy to set up.
For example, set the Timer up in Delay mode as
part of a Door Open Too Long (DOTL) alarm.
Positive
(3v to 24v DC, Hi) or negative (0v DC,
Lo) trigger gives the unit great
flexibility when working with inputs.
Alternative
Trigger set up to detect loss of positive
or negative trigger (ie detect broken
circuit).
And the inbuilt
trigger hysteresis improves the unit's
stability in "dirty" electronic
environments, or when using mechanical switches.
Available as either:
- Circuit Board
(also called Card or PCB) modules (mounting tape
included, small footprint), or
- Boxed (DIN
rail or screw mountable) modules

ULTRAsmart's DualTimer12
(DT12DC8/03) PCB Card, mounting tape included.
Approx size: 87mm L x 33mm W x 24mm H
Designation / Model
Name (DT12DC8/03)
DT = Dual Timer; 12DC = 12 Volt DC Supply; 8 = 8 Amp DC maximum switching current;
/03 = Version 03
(You can tell it's the 12v DC
model of the DualTimer in the above picture, as the OMRON relay has "12VDC" stamped on
it. The 24v DC model has "24VDC" stamped on the top of the relay.)

ULTRAsmart's DualTimer12d
(DT12DC8/03d).
Boxed model of the
DualTimer12 PCB (without mounting tape).
Approx size: 94mmDIN or 104mm surface mount L x 36mm W x 58mm H
Designation / Model
Name (DT12DC8/03d)
DT = Dual Timer; 12DC = 12 Volt DC Supply; 8 = 8 Amp DC maximum switching current;
/03 = Version 03; d = DIN rail or surface mountable
TIMER
MODES
DIP Switch number 1 is used to set the Timer Mode.
Set the switch to ON for Delay Mode;
or to OFF for Time Out Mode. (The panel of 4 DIP Switches is located
top centre-right of the board.)
Delay Mode:
- To start and keep the timer
counting, apply a constant TRIGGER.
- At the expiration of the set time, the Relay is
switched.
- The Relay is released when the TRIGGER is released.
Time Out Mode:
- To start the timer counting, a momentary
TRIGGER is applied.
- The Relay is immediately switched.
- At the expiration of the set time, the Relay is
released.
- The unit checks to ensure that the TRIGGER is
released.
SOME
COMPONENT SPECIFICATIONS
- RELAY:
- OMRON G5LE-14 12VDC relay in the
DualTimer12.
- OMRON G5LE-14 24VDC relay in the
DualTimer24.
- Specifications can be found at OMRON's
European web site. (If you can't find the specs on OMRONs's site, we have a PDF copy downloaded
in December 2005.) Refer especially the Specifications and Engineering
Data headings.
Max relay switch contact ratings include:
=> DC: Power - 240 W;
voltage - 30 Volt; current - 8 amp.
At
voltages less than 30VDC, the current spec is more limiting
than
the power spec.
- Therefore max DC current
is 8 amp
=> AC: Power - 1,200VA (apparent power); voltage - 250V;
current - 10 amp
At
voltages above 120VAC, the power spec is more limiting than
the current spec.
- Therefore max AC current
at 240v AC is 5 amp
-
SPDT
- Single
Pole Double Throw switch.
-
Relay endurance
information can be found in the Specifications.
This can be important especially if you are switching high currents.
- DIODE:
1 x Rectifier Diode to protect
against back EMF when the relay coil depowers
- normally 1N4004 (or similar); Standard Silicon Rectifier Power
Diode
-
TERMINAL BLOCK:
5 Way Screw
- Normally
comprised of 1 x 2 way block for the signal connections to the relay
coil, and 1 x 3 way block for the relay contacts
- 5mm cable size; Rated at 300 v AC, 10 Amp
MANUALS
Please read the manuals for your module as they
contain important additional information:
EXAMPLE
APPLICATIONS
We also
provide example application
information. This may vary in form. For example:
- an application
which uses only one module type may only include
setup instructions (eg Door Open Too Long or DOTL
alarm using the DualTimer)
- an application
which uses more than one unit or unit type may
include a circuit diagram (eg simplified
"Traffic Lights")
Naturally, example
applications are only intended as a general approach
to using our modules. It is the users responsibility
to use our modules safely, correctly, and
appropriately.
CATALOGUE
Our
catalogue
is available as a PDF document.
AVAILABILITY AND PRICE
Our modules are
available throughout Australia.
Suppliers - Trade and
Commercial
We supply a number of companies who sell to trade and are normally able
to provide technical and other services as well. Many have interstate
offices/warehouses. If you intend purchasing in commercial
quantities, we recommend you contact these
people.
Suppliers - Retail
We at ULTRAsmart provide a postal
service for non-trade customers who only want
to buy in small quantities. Payment is
required in advance.
